When my brother and I graduated high school and then when I graduated from college our entire family came over and we had a big celebration. It was a fun and joyous occassion for everyone. My son is getting ready to graduate pre-school and make his way into the "Big" school in August when he enters kindergarten. It is hard to believe he will be in the elementary school setting already. It seems not that long ago I just enrolled him into preschool. I am not sure what I will do as his celebration for getting ready to transitition to kindergarten but I will be sure to make it special for him. He is my world and I love doing things that he will remember and cherish.
My stepdaughter Elizabeth is graduating high school in two weeks. I bought a journal and have asked family and friends to offer congratulations, advice, stories and best wishes. I have taken it to two family events and have had most of my family and my husband's family sign. Which was a trick since Elizabeth was there. I hope to have her mom's family sign it next week. For those that I won't be able to see in person, I have asked them to mail me or email a note and I will paste it into the journal. My hope is it will be something she will enjoy and cherish and that we can add to when she graduates college.

Dirty clothes actually go into the dirty clothes basket and you no longer walk into the kitchen to [...]

The Power of Unexpected Kindness

One year there were several kids on their street that were graduating from some school or another; sixth grade, eighth grade or twelfth grade. Teri and her boys put together some very simple treats with [...]

What Would You Do?

Last night my boys, Dylan and Travis, were helping me cut out Bingo Boards and put together Bingo Button sacks. It was really late and I was trying to get everything photographed for this first Five in One Family Fun email. Normally they go to bed by 9:15 but it was 9:30 and I hadn’t [...]
