Hello!

Just wondered how everyone did with finishing up the school year.

My son and I finished Friday night around 7:30pm :). We were mostly on track but then one of his friends died and we took a little time off for that. But he still wanted to finish when the public school kids did, so we pushed a little with what we'd had planned and managed to get done.

I love summer time. We homeschool year around. I seem to be more relaxed suring the summer. We tend do more fun stuff in the summer.

You don't take a break?

I love the sense of demarcation and the feeling of having a break from routine.

And like you, I love summer!!

2 of my kids have special needs so I have to go slow. If I took a break it would probably be hard for them to start up again, we would end up doing alot of reviewing.

Summer time we do alot of fieldtrips and projects that we don't do normally in the school year.

It's funny because a friend had asked me how do I do it, she was referring to homeschooling. I've always thought of homeschooling as a lifestyle, I'm so use to it. I can not imagine not homeschooling. I'm going on my 15th year of homeschooling. I have one that's a junior in college.

That's AWESOME!

Well, I sometimes wonder how I do it, too. Which is why we take summer's off! :)

Have fun with your field trips! (I'd be studying oceanography ;)).

Hi, I'm new here! :D We homeschool year round, too. :D It's just easier for us that way. My kids tend to forget what they last learned if we miss more than a week. lol

No Nag Nirvana

Yes, wouldn’t that be like heaven? You walk around the house and without saying a word, backpacks, toys and clothes are picked up…dishes are cleared off the table and towels are hung back on the towel rack. Dirty clothes actually go into the dirty clothes basket and you no longer walk into the kitchen to [...]

The Power of Unexpected Kindness

The idea of Door Knob Drops came from my sister, Teri, who lives with her two boys in Moraga, California. One year there were several kids on their street that were graduating from some school or another; sixth grade, eighth grade or twelfth grade. Teri and her boys put together some very simple treats with [...]

What Would You Do?

Last night my boys, Dylan and Travis, were helping me cut out Bingo Boards and put together Bingo Button sacks. It was really late and I was trying to get everything photographed for this first Five in One Family Fun email. Normally they go to bed by 9:15 but it was 9:30 and I hadn’t [...]
