Love your pictures Julie. Lynn and I cracked up over the little boy, Robbie holding the sward like a Samurai, it was adorable. You have a beautiful family. My heart was touched to see grandpa on the jetty with the little ones. How sweet is that? Anyway I just wanted to say high from OUAF Corporate office. Take care and we will talk soon.

Hey, Julie,
Been concentrating on my other business - promotional products to try and survive. Making good headway in that business finding new customers. Need to add 10 new ones this year which will let me double my business which will be great! I have about 50 other customers that really take up too much time and don't give me enough business so I'm maintaining them but cutting back my time and effort on them to make 10 new ones like the ten I have that give me 93% of my business now. It's going well, but I'm a bit behind on my efforts to get these new clients/customers as I've been trying to do this for over a year and just haven't put the time into it. Some of why I haven't is because I've been trying so hard to make OUAF a real business. I'm so discouraged on OUAF!!! No matter what I do, I just don't seem to make much headway. My latest disaster is with the Boys and Girls Club in our area. It's a big opportunity and they agreed to do a pilot to see how we could apply the "values" packets to their situation. Well, I got the buy in of the CEO and the VP of OPS and then I gave my next presentation to a group of their staff from 4 or 5 of their clubs in our area. It was a total flop. They were insulted and offended by the whole presentation. I'm just flabbergasted. It's the very same presentation I've given to everyone - based on the new celebration format which I've found works very well. So, what they were offended by and why, I'm just at a loss to understand. I know they were very confrontive and resistant as I was presenting the material but why is what I can't get. It may have been rooted in race bias - me white and they, black. A few comments came out along those lines - not directly, but when you read between the lines, I felt that was what they were saying. I can't even get the VP to return my call or emails. This just happened about a month ago. I'm just so bummed out. It seems no matter what I try, it just doesn't gather any momentum. It's an uphill battle in every format or audience I try. I've given presentations this year to about 5 MOPS groups and haven't sold the first sale to anyone from those groups. YET, they seem to eat it up when I present everything. So, I'm just backing off of OUAF for now until I rethink and decide what, if anything, I'm going to do next. It just seems to be too hard to really get this business going. People don't want to put the time and effort into this type of activity no matter how much they love it, it seems. EVEN though we have made it easy and all packaged for them, it still doesn't stick on the wall. How is that school going that you connected with? I'm hoping you are having some luck so you can cheer me on! Hope you and your family had a very special Easter. Passover is in the middle of April and that is when my family will celebrate our special holiday for this time of year. Sorry I didn't respond to your posting before this - just been off on other things and don't have much time to putter around here on HHC site.

No Nag Nirvana

Yes, wouldn’t that be like heaven? You walk around the house and without saying a word, backpacks, toys and clothes are picked up…dishes are cleared off the table and towels are hung back on the towel rack. Dirty clothes actually go into the dirty clothes basket and you no longer walk into the kitchen to [...]

The Power of Unexpected Kindness

The idea of Door Knob Drops came from my sister, Teri, who lives with her two boys in Moraga, California. One year there were several kids on their street that were graduating from some school or another; sixth grade, eighth grade or twelfth grade. Teri and her boys put together some very simple treats with [...]

What Would You Do?

Last night my boys, Dylan and Travis, were helping me cut out Bingo Boards and put together Bingo Button sacks. It was really late and I was trying to get everything photographed for this first Five in One Family Fun email. Normally they go to bed by 9:15 but it was 9:30 and I hadn’t [...]
