Here I am preparing for one of those family birthday parties. This is just one of the three cakes I made. I did allow the almost 6 year old to decorate his own and will add the picture too.

Dinner conversations with two three year olds and a kindergartener are always enjoyable to the fullest extent. Most often my husband and I can’t get a word in edgewise. When asking them a question I think I will know their answer and I am always del…

Family Organizer- October I tried to guess my happy home personality type as I read before ever taking the test. Glancing at the five types it made me wonder if there really would be one that stood out. After all I think of myself as average, roun…

December was a great month to engage in this activity. As a family we were finally into the routine of a child in all day kindergarten and what to expect by Friday. Friday night then became our commitment to play games after supper. The year before…

Profile Information

A little bit about me:
I grew up on a dairy farm with three brothers and three sisters in a small community. Last year I was able to move back to the country and enjoy all the beauty it offers.
My favorite childhood memory:
Sunday afternoons.
My favorite family tradition:
Picking out the Christmas tree when I was little. We had to climb up a hill (Crawley Hill) which was very steep and you actually had to crawl up it. Climb over or under barb wire fence and then 9 of us had to agree on a Christmas tree. They were never perfect trees like you see now. It was always a little brown and a little sparse for branches ( a cedar tree). In th house Mom would trim it to fit the tree stand and the corner of the living room. Let it set for a while. It would start to thaw out and green up and we would decorate it. When it was all done the imperfections were hidden and it served its purpose of many happy family memories.
My favorite family moment:
Movie night , snuggling with husband and kids munching on popcorn in the coziness of our family room.

2 PM? Dream theme (since it is March) I will send out invites. I try really hard to work on it tomorrow.

I don't like this Happy Home forum. I would rather just go to my email not have to log in somewhere else or have to remember another password ect.
Just thought I would vent

No Nag Nirvana

Yes, wouldn’t that be like heaven? You walk around the house and without saying a word, backpacks, toys and clothes are picked up…dishes are cleared off the table and towels are hung back on the towel rack. Dirty clothes actually go into the dirty clothes basket and you no longer walk into the kitchen [...]

The Power of Unexpected Kindness

The idea of Door Knob Drops came from my sister, Teri, who lives with her two boys in Moraga, California. One year there were several kids on their street that were graduating from some school or another; sixth grade, eighth grade or twelfth grade. Teri and her boys put together some very simple [...]

What Would You Do?

Last night my boys, Dylan and Travis, were helping me cut out Bingo Boards and put together Bingo Button sacks. It was really late and I was trying to get everything photographed for this first Five in One Family Fun email. Normally they go to bed by 9:15 but it was 9:30 and I hadn’t [...]
