Profile Information

A little bit about me:
I am a atay-at-home mom with two wonderful children, Austin (8) and Shelby (4). I am very much in love with my husband of 10 years, Keith.I am a consultant for Once Upon a Family and a Marketing Executive for Melaleuca the Wellness Company. I hail from Buffalo, NY; attended and graduated from Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA (B.A. Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Mgmt with minor in Spanish); after a brief post-college stint back in Buffalo, moved to W. Palm Beach, FL for 4 years and then relocated to Dallas, TX to continue my career with Islands Restaurants. After meeting and marrying my adorable husband (engaged after 3 weeks and married 11 months after meeting), we moved to MI to be closer to his family (Ann Arbor) and a day's drive from mine (still in Buffalo), We have now been in MI for close to 10 years. One day we will return to TX, even if it is not util retirement, we will be there.
Family members – names/ages/interests:
Deb (me-37) - gardening, exercise, nutrition and wellness, memories, my family, organization, helping others, being a wife and mama
Keith (spouse-34) - Global Accounts Manager - Verizon Wireless - roller hockey, on-line gaming, golf, being a husband and daddy
Austin (son 8) - gaming, basketball, baseball, Texas anything, having fun, Webkinz, Pokemon, Bakugan
Shelby (daughter 4) - dolls, Barbie, Webkinz, movies, tea parties, remaining the baby yet being a "big girl", horses
My favorite childhood memory:
Spending time with my grandparents, just about every weekend, and pretending their house was a hotel that I would check into. The role playing would last all night and into the next day when I would dine in the restaurant before checking out to head back to my house.
My favorite family tradition:
We have so many that we are working on right now - to make them a part of our life and future. I love everything that OUAF has brought to us and that we have made priorities out of.
My favorite family moment:
Any time spent with the 4 of us together - it is always something special and memorable

Focus for my life

"-Make God a part of your everyday life
-Remain close to your Family
-Seek and nurture worthy Friends
-Pursue knowledge with a Passion."

Today was better :)

Today was better. Mom (Pam) is doing ok. Not much of a change. Didn't make it out there to see her today as the kids needed me here. Plan to go tomorrow.

Today was Shelby's 4th birthday! I cannot believe my baby is 4 already! No longer a baby though as she insists on walking without holding my hand since she is a "BIG GIWL" and "Mom- I AM 4 now!". Rather a sad but exciting day for us around here. :)

Thursday 2/21

What a neat idea (this site and all). I am excited about this and cannot wait to tell my friends to join (though I guess I have to). Not sure what to write since I have never blogged before. Don't want to share too much or be stingy with not sharing enough. Guess I will go easy for now and will lighten up and share more as I see what others do too. Keith is traveling and off to Dallas today and returns on Saturday. Kids are off to sleep. I am off to a glass of red wine and today's episode of Gen… Continue

Hey Deb,
I love your pics, Shelby looks so old. Yikes, I want to freeze them all where they are at. Hope you had a great time on your trip. This seems like a neat site although I am mentally challenged when it comes to navigating around and the computer. We will see if I can figure any of it out.

We are all well, I have been busy at work. I can't believe both are babies are 4. I sometimes wish I had 1 more. I will try and update my page. There are days that I go without even checking my email.

Hi Deb. I did check out all the great pictures. Austin looks like he was born to wear that cowboy hat! It was so great to see him and Shelby....I can't believe how old Shelby is and Austin looks so grown up...he lost some of his cheeks! Thank you for sending me the invite to join this club...I had never heard of it until now. All is well here...my daughter Mandy graduates next month and then is off to EMU and my twins, Alex and Ian are finishing their freshman year. Our Shepherd is also doing well. Say hi to the kids for me.

No Nag Nirvana

Yes, wouldn’t that be like heaven? You walk around the house and without saying a word, backpacks, toys and clothes are picked up…dishes are cleared off the table and towels are hung back on the towel rack. Dirty clothes actually go into the dirty clothes basket and you no longer walk into the kitchen to [...]

The Power of Unexpected Kindness

The idea of Door Knob Drops came from my sister, Teri, who lives with her two boys in Moraga, California. One year there were several kids on their street that were graduating from some school or another; sixth grade, eighth grade or twelfth grade. Teri and her boys put together some very simple treats with [...]

What Would You Do?

Last night my boys, Dylan and Travis, were helping me cut out Bingo Boards and put together Bingo Button sacks. It was really late and I was trying to get everything photographed for this first Five in One Family Fun email. Normally they go to bed by 9:15 but it was 9:30 and I hadn’t [...]
