Once again...I am surprised by my daughter and her acts of kindness/love. She just turned 4 and is always full of questions. What she did this month that I found wonderful was...she was looking at her baby pictures that we had just made into a book…

I think for me the most amazing thing I learned from this activity was the ties that family has. In today's world we are always running from one place to the next. We can never seem to stay in one place for very long. After talking with my husbands…

Dinner conversations at house are very interesting. Between tenage boys talking about school, girls and what car they want when they turn 16 and a 4 year old discussing her princess party that is coming up you are never without laughs. During the sc…

I am the family educator. This comes as no surprise to me. I love to read and teach what I have learned to others. I tend to do well with adults more than children but I also have 5 kids. I have a bookshelves of books and I always have a book with m…

Profile Information

A little bit about me:
I am a mother of 5 and a gradmother of 1 (and I am just 35). Boy some days I feel a lot older. I work fulltime outside of the home and enjoy my job tremendously. I have a great group of girlfirends that I do not know what I would do without.
Family members – names/ages/interests:
My wonderful husband, Brad, 42 and loves football.
My wants to be an adult (17) stepdaughter, Acacia, mother of beautiful Noah just 1 year old.
My oldest son, Nick, 14 likes to read and pick on his brother.
Seth, my sports fanatic 13 yearold stepson is next in line.
The youngest boy, Chirs, at 11 wants to do everything the older boys do.
Lat but not least by any means is Peyton our beautiful 3 yearold.
My favorite childhood memory:
My favorite memory from childhood is probably playing outside with my friends. We had a great time making towns on the road, building forts and being the Pink Ladies, coat and all. Those were great times.
My favorite family tradition:
Christmas is my favorite time of the year. Thus my favorite family tradition. As far back as I can remember we have had a tradition with the nativity scene and birthday cake. Each Christmas or Christmas Eve we read the the birth of Jesus from Luke, then the chosen person will place baby Jesus in the manager. Last we sing Happy Birthday and have cake. This has been so special that we have continued to do this in my family now. I love this tradition and the kids have a hard time deciding who gets to do what.
My favorite family moment:
Watching Peyton figure life out.

No Nag Nirvana

Yes, wouldn’t that be like heaven? You walk around the house and without saying a word, backpacks, toys and clothes are picked up…dishes are cleared off the table and towels are hung back on the towel rack. Dirty clothes actually go into the dirty clothes basket and you no longer walk into the kitchen to [...]

The Power of Unexpected Kindness

The idea of Door Knob Drops came from my sister, Teri, who lives with her two boys in Moraga, California. One year there were several kids on their street that were graduating from some school or another; sixth grade, eighth grade or twelfth grade. Teri and her boys put together some very simple treats with [...]

What Would You Do?

Last night my boys, Dylan and Travis, were helping me cut out Bingo Boards and put together Bingo Button sacks. It was really late and I was trying to get everything photographed for this first Five in One Family Fun email. Normally they go to bed by 9:15 but it was 9:30 and I hadn’t [...]
