Hi, Joyce, what a sweet childhood memory story! I loved that. I could just see your dad waving out the window. Your header is very sweet, too!

Hi Joyce,
Ok, your favorite childhood memory had me in tears. What a nice thing to say about your parents. I hope my kids can say the same about me someday. Four children and a school teacher. WOW I bet you were busy. I'm so excited about grand children, however I hope that is about 15 to 20 years away. (I had four kids to make sure I would at least have some grandkids!) Love the picture with the doggie. Cute. Take care

Profile Information

A little bit about me:
I am a retired teacher with four of the most wonderful children, two terrific son-in-laws, a beautiful daughter-in-law and six of the most beautiful, smartest and MOST SWEETEST grand children in the world.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Announcement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As Of mid April, I have found out I will have another grand child to anticipate and dream about! December will be EXTRA special!
My favorite childhood memory:
My elementary school closed. I had been a walker. Now, all of a sudden I had to take a bus to a different school. This new school was two huge stories with a swimming pool, outside tennis courts, etc. Way too much for a over protected six year old! My dad drove me too school the first two days of school. We followed the bus so he could show me how safe I was. One the third day. I rode the bus and he followed the bus, waving to me to show me how safe I was. After that I was just fine! I waved good bye to my mom and dad, walked to the corner and rode the bus all by myself. My mom and dad always supported me and then let me FLY off happy and reasurred!
My favorite family tradition:
Birthdays. Mom always made our favorite cake. We got to help measure and pour, spread the icing and decorate. We had a family dinner with our favorite food. Spending the evening together was wonderful!! Now I continue the tradition. We always have a family get together for each and every special birthday!
My favorite family moment:
When we are all together - laughing and sharing our lives.

No Nag Nirvana

Yes, wouldn’t that be like heaven? You walk around the house and without saying a word, backpacks, toys and clothes are picked up…dishes are cleared off the table and towels are hung back on the towel rack. Dirty clothes actually go into the dirty clothes basket and you no longer walk into the kitchen to [...]

The Power of Unexpected Kindness

The idea of Door Knob Drops came from my sister, Teri, who lives with her two boys in Moraga, California. One year there were several kids on their street that were graduating from some school or another; sixth grade, eighth grade or twelfth grade. Teri and her boys put together some very simple treats with [...]

What Would You Do?

Last night my boys, Dylan and Travis, were helping me cut out Bingo Boards and put together Bingo Button sacks. It was really late and I was trying to get everything photographed for this first Five in One Family Fun email. Normally they go to bed by 9:15 but it was 9:30 and I hadn’t [...]
