Mom and I have always had wonderful talks about her childhood, and our relatives. Mom grew up in Pennsylvania. She did not have much in material posessions, though there was plenty of love and relatves to go around. My grandfather came to the US in…

My Love For A Mother's Love My best random act of love goes back to 1982 when I was headed away to college in Providence, Rhode Island (I grew up in Monana). I was so excied until about a week before, I was getting so scared to be away that I was m…

We Celebrate so much throughout the year...I love most birthday parties...though I tend to go overboard. January: We ring in the New Year by going all the way across town and staying the night at the Wingate Hotel. It has big water slides and a gre…

Ahhhh...Seattle. My old stomping grounds ya know. I got married there and lived there a long time. Still have lots of family there. I hear it was still snowing at the end of March! Hope you got to see at least a little peak of blue sky during your week there! I'd love to hear more about your trip and where you went. Some familiar places for me I'm sure!

Hi Kay,
My son will be 4 in June. He has been trying to be so independent. SIGH. I have been a consultant since Nov and not doing too well. I am sure it is because of a combination of the economy and that I work full time. I did hold a "party" at my work/school and whatever I earn will go back to a program at my school. I am just trying to get customers. :-) I am holding another party at the end of March for my cousin. I hope that one goes well too.
Good luck to you. Have a great day.

Profile Information

A little bit about me:
Single Mom of a 3 year old and Substitute School Teacher. Trying to be a retired school teacher...OUAF is soon to be my lifeline. I grew up in Montana, went back east for college and finally got back to Montana 20 years later...Thank God!
Family members – names/ages/interests:
Son-Winn 3 years old He loves any kind of action figure and helicopters
My favorite childhood memory:
In 1975 I got my first pair of skis that were all mine...not a hand me down from any of the 6 older siblings. Also, I swam everyday in our back yard pool, definately THE neighborhood house to be at.
My favorite family tradition:
We wait to open any presents until Christmas morning. Every year all my brothers and sisters have to wait at the bottom of the stairs until my parents get their coffee and go check to see if Santa even came to our house. Eventually they would decide that he did indeed come and we could come up to start the Blessed day! We still do this with all the neices and nephews. What Fun!
My favorite family moment:
Picking my son up from school everyday...he is always so happy to see me!

No Nag Nirvana

Yes, wouldn’t that be like heaven? You walk around the house and without saying a word, backpacks, toys and clothes are picked up…dishes are cleared off the table and towels are hung back on the towel rack. Dirty clothes actually go into the dirty clothes basket and you no longer walk into the kitchen to [...]

The Power of Unexpected Kindness

The idea of Door Knob Drops came from my sister, Teri, who lives with her two boys in Moraga, California. One year there were several kids on their street that were graduating from some school or another; sixth grade, eighth grade or twelfth grade. Teri and her boys put together some very simple treats with [...]

What Would You Do?

Last night my boys, Dylan and Travis, were helping me cut out Bingo Boards and put together Bingo Button sacks. It was really late and I was trying to get everything photographed for this first Five in One Family Fun email. Normally they go to bed by 9:15 but it was 9:30 and I hadn’t [...]
