Hey Lisa,

I'm sure we talked about the fact that I'm from Bend, Or. I relate to the fishing, camping, waterskiing etc. Not a hunter I love Bambi. But I did raise pigs and had chickens. Miss those easy days. Now of course I'm in Costa Mesa, CA sitting at my desk at OUAF. Just wanted to say hello to my Oregon Girl. Talk to ya soon. ;-)
PS
Beautiful family and wonderful pictures of the girls. Love'm.

Hi Lisa,
Great job getting up and running! I loved your blog. Wasn't the eclipse amazing? I was inspired by you to get a picture on my profile so after looking through all the digital pics from the last six months I finally found one where I am not behind the camera. Of course it is at church camp and we are grungy...but hey, I am in it! Talk to you soon!

Profile Information

A little bit about me:
I am a Mommy to 3 wonderful girls and a wife to a wonderful teacher husband. We live in a small town in Oregon where I grew up and I teach pre-school 2 mornings a week where 3 and 4 year olds make me laugh non-stop. I love Oregon and all the activities it has to offer. I recently became a Once Upon a Family consultant so that I can share the impact the products have had on my families life.
Family members – names/ages/interests:
My husband is David and he is into all things male, cars, football fishing and hunting but he becomes a total ball of mush when it comes to his girls.

My oldest child is Molly. She is 8 years old and she is a bright shining girl that makes us laugh all the time. She is interested in all things about dogs she can find and she is a whiz on the computer.

Morgan is my middle child (she so lives up to the middle child name!) she is 5 going on 17. She is a fashion diva and doesnt hesitate to point out when others arn't and she is married to Peter Pan. She also has an imaginary family that has now been with us for almost 3 years and I have to say her imaginary parents are great, they let her do anything she wants.
Mia was added to our family in April and we now can say we have been blessed way more than we deserve. She is a very silly baby that now knows how to make her sisters laugh and does these things as often as possible. She is a baby that gets into EVERYTHING, granting her the nickname "the paper shredder" Her other nickname is Hank the Tank, which she wears proudly as she is over 23lbs at 10mths old!
My favorite childhood memory:
My favorite memory of my childhood is when my family went to Great America theme park and we got to see a side of my very serious father we had up until then never seen. We were at the park at opening and he was so excited he had us all running from ride to ride only to get off and run to the next one until the park closed. This started a whole tradition of theme parks finding the biggest and fastest roller coasters on the west coast.
My favorite family tradition:
My favorite family tradition is cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning. When you could smell them it meant the Grandparents would be there soon, hence more presents. My husband proposed right after I shoved one in my mouth so my answer was a very mumbled "UH HUH" while my elderly grandma was yelling "What he say" in the background. And now my kids look foward to them on Christmas morning and I look foward to watching them startle when I open the cardboard container since I am not Martha Stewart or my mom.
My favorite family moment:
Anytime we are all together without outside interuptions.

Good Friday 3/21/2008

This time of year is very special to my family. Taking time to remember our Saviours death and ressurection always brings with it a sense of cleansing and renewal. Add to that spring time and it is always something we look foward to. Today Morgan and I were listening to her favorite worship song and she was reflecting on how it is good because they are singing about Jesus and Jesus is an important person. I said yes and then remembered it was Good Friday so I told her what day it was. She agreed… Continue

Is Uncle Dave ever getting married? 3/16/2008

That is the question that keeps my children up at night. My brother turned 29 today and according to my kids he is almost past the point of ever being able to find a wife now. Molly thought we should buy him a wife for his birthday. When we explained that you cant just go buy a wife, Morgan, my fashion girl, thought we should maybe buy him some new clothes so a wife would like him. I think all of this worry stems from them wanting desperately to be in another wedding. Molly often comments that s… Continue

Chicken Biology 3/15/2008

I love that my girls are very intrested in animals. It has given me so many oppurtunties to teach them some of lifes most valuable lessons. Today Molly was able to teach me a lesson about life also. I picked her up from a friends house, they live on a farm (if only we did, our kids might think we were the best parents ever) and Molly was telling me about the perils of farm living, the cat was "stuck" in a tree and they had to devise a plan to coax it out, this plan left more mud on their boots t… Continue

When I turn 16 I want a minivan 3/11/2008

Morgan is already asking for her first car and it is a mini-van! Dave has decided it is time to sell my suburban, so for the time being I am a mini-van girl. The girls couldnt be more happy! Who would have thought that all I needed was a van to score big points with them? Molly really wanted to keep it until I told them it didnt have a CD player, the thought of no Hannah Montana was enough to scare her back to the Surburban camp with me.

Mia is now taking a few steps here and there. I have been… Continue

Mia learns new tricks! 3/9/2008

Today Mia took her first steps to her Daddy! Then she promptly followed it up with her first major tantrum! We are so proud! Her sisters actually had the nerve to not pay attention to her and go outside without her, GASP. She then threw herself down and just let us hear all about it. Considering she is only 10 mths the whole was a little comical. I am wondering though if I am really in for it in the next couple of years.

No Nag Nirvana

Yes, wouldn’t that be like heaven? You walk around the house and without saying a word, backpacks, toys and clothes are picked up…dishes are cleared off the table and towels are hung back on the towel rack. Dirty clothes actually go into the dirty clothes basket and you no longer walk into the kitchen to [...]

The Power of Unexpected Kindness

The idea of Door Knob Drops came from my sister, Teri, who lives with her two boys in Moraga, California. One year there were several kids on their street that were graduating from some school or another; sixth grade, eighth grade or twelfth grade. Teri and her boys put together some very simple treats with [...]

What Would You Do?

Last night my boys, Dylan and Travis, were helping me cut out Bingo Boards and put together Bingo Button sacks. It was really late and I was trying to get everything photographed for this first Five in One Family Fun email. Normally they go to bed by 9:15 but it was 9:30 and I hadn’t [...]
