Profile Information

A little bit about me:
I work part time and have been a Once Upon A Family Consultant since Sept. 2007. I live in Pennsylvania. Family is very important to me. My brother and I have recently lost our mom and dad. That makes you wake up and realize how important family is. I treasure every moment I have with my family. I love to do for others and make people smile. I love to help out with my daughter's school functions.
Family members – names/ages/interests:
My husband's name is Brian, age 36. He is a busy body. Constantly working or remodeling our home. He loves to take our daughter fishing and spending Daddy/Daughter time together.
Our daughter's name is Angelesa, age 8. Named after my sister Teresa that passed in 1990. Angel + Teresa = Angelesa. She is so smart and has the biggest heart! She loves to draw, sing, dance, be a girly girl yet tries different sports in school. Did I mention she loves Hanna Montana and High School Musical? LOL
Angelesa comes to some of my Celebrations. I let her pick a favorite item, usually the family fun box, then she will explain it and do the activity. The customers love it!!
And of course there is me. I am 35 years old. I love being a mom and a wife. Absolutely love Once Upon A Family!! I like to be creative, drawing, website designing, making memory DVD's w/music and photos, swimming, sledriding and camping.
My favorite childhood memory:
My mom playing her accordian for me.

Also taking trips with my dad. He was a truck driver.
My favorite family tradition:
Our tradition that goes way back to when I was a kid is opening one gift on Christmas Eve. We still do that. But we also buy gifts for families that can't afford a lot.
My favorite family moment:
Building a fort that takes up the entire living room and dining room and then having dinner in the fort.
He who has a thing to sell,
and goes and whispers in the well,
is not so apt to get the dollars,
as he who climbs a tree and hollers!

There is no rhyme or reason for this... Just makes me laugh...

This is dedicated to my daughter Angelesa and also my mom.

Oh...regarding the fund raiser at my school...I just talked to the principal. It depends on how your daughters principal is. Some are cool...some are not so cool. Mine is cool...:-)
I just told them that my commission would go to a particular program and they were all for it. I only had 3 teachers and one parent participate and I think... I will be giving them $60 if my calculations are right.
I think I might have gained a client...one of the teachers bought a lot of stuff. And I think she is going to have a party soon. So...cool!!!
Take care.

Hey Mary,
I hope to hear good news from you soon. :-) So sorry to hear about your parents and grandparent. I don't know what I would do without my mom. I know her time will come someday...I hope it won't be until my son is grown up. I feel very fortunate that my parents have been healthy.
Hey I am looking at your pictures and I noticed that we have the same kitchen table. LOL. Well...we have the same chairs and my table has dark green "tile" on the top and yours is just wood. Too funny.
Take care...I better go.

Hi Mary,
All is well. I am just coming to the end of my two week Spring Break from work. It took my son about a week to adjust to me being "home"...sigh...I see him every morning and am home by 4pm or so... I guess me being with him 24/7 is an adjustment. Now he is totally at ease with me and isn't testing the waters anymore. And I have to go back to work on Monday...sigh.
We took my mom to Disneyland on Tuesday. It was way way crowded...but we still managed to have a great time. The weather was perfect!!! I was bummed that Pirates of the Caribbean was closed because my mom hasn't seen the new Johnny Depp/Jack Sparrow pirates on the ride. Oh well... I guess she will just have to go back. We saw this one family win a night in Walt's Dream Suite. It looks so cool on the internet... they won one night in this fabulous hotel room in the park...and they got to be in a parade too...how fun. I wish I could win that.
Hey I managed to raise $60 for my school's program through my fund raiser. That was cool to do. I don't have the commission check yet but I suppose it will be next month.
Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.

Cheers from Texas!

Well, I work at a school so it is easier, I guess. I asked the principal first and I picked the program to give to. But maybe the principal has some ideas of what needs money.
Michelle F. said that she donates The Dear Sweet Child Letter Box to a local adoption agency for new parents to have. Isn't that great??
I can't wait to hear all the stories and ideas. I hope you can join soon. Get better computer.

No Nag Nirvana

Yes, wouldn’t that be like heaven? You walk around the house and without saying a word, backpacks, toys and clothes are picked up…dishes are cleared off the table and towels are hung back on the towel rack. Dirty clothes actually go into the dirty clothes basket and you no longer walk into the kitchen to [...]

The Power of Unexpected Kindness

The idea of Door Knob Drops came from my sister, Teri, who lives with her two boys in Moraga, California. One year there were several kids on their street that were graduating from some school or another; sixth grade, eighth grade or twelfth grade. Teri and her boys put together some very simple treats with [...]

What Would You Do?

Last night my boys, Dylan and Travis, were helping me cut out Bingo Boards and put together Bingo Button sacks. It was really late and I was trying to get everything photographed for this first Five in One Family Fun email. Normally they go to bed by 9:15 but it was 9:30 and I hadn’t [...]
