Hi Shari,

The new Fall Challenge has started and it would be great to see you join in this season! So check it out!

This season, the Hero Kit is made up of $150 in OUAF products of your choice! If you have any questions about getting started with the Challenge, let me know - I'm here to help.

Feel free to invite your friends to join you during the Challenge - sometimes it helps to have someone trying new things right alongside you.

I can't wait to read your comments for each challenge.

That's fabulous, Shari...do let me know how it goes and if you have any questions at all, just call or email me! Best of luck (not that it's necessary!)

Shari,

Oh my gosh, your family pictures are incredible! If you ever need a vacation, send those boys to me so I can get my little boy hugs in!!! Adorable :)

Oh my....that is the best family picture!! I love it. Did you edit it to get the lighting like that or was it just a great shot.
So glad you could come last week. It was fun to have Lorle there - even if just for a few of us...oops.:)

Profile Information

A little bit about me:
I am a SAHM and homeschooling mom to 2 wonderful boys and a loving wife (most of the time) to my dh Eric. Family has always been so important to me, and this past year, due to the economy, we had to move from Michigan where the majority of our family lives to North Carolina where we didn't know a soul. There have been some rough days, but God has been faithful. I can say that He has shown me so much about myself this past year and He has brought my immediate family so much closer because it was all we had. I am a Once Upon a Family consultant and consider it a privilege to represent this company and what they stand for. I'm doing what I can to change America one home at a time - starting with my own.
Family members – names/ages/interests:
Eric - The sweetest husband a woman could ever ask for. A proud supporter of the Detroit Tigers and a lover of stupid humor movies. You know what I mean by that, right? His favorite movie is Strange Brew, I'll just leave it at that! :)

Jordan - 8 years old. Jordan is his mom through and through. He's got a smart, sarcastic mouth but is very tender and compassionate on the inside. Right now I wish his interest was Spelling, but he'd much rather be playing video games, swimming or picking on his brother.

Justin - 5 years old. Justin is my sweet, people-pleasing boy. He'll do whatever he can to make you happy. This is great at this age, but a little scary when he gets older! Justin loves Lightning McQueen and anything associated with him (and don't you know Disney just keeps on coming up with more and more cars - I really can almost guarantee Justin has some cars from the Cars movie that I didn't ever actually see in the movie).
My favorite childhood memory:
Playing basketball with my dad even AFTER the street lights came on! ;)

All 9 of us kids gathering around the piano and singing with mom and dad.

Our annual camping trips.
My favorite family tradition:
I'm trying to build more traditions, but the one that I love and we always do is we go and look at Christmas lights one night every week in the month of December. We drive around and the boys pick out which lights they think are the best and we give that family a box of chocolates to thank them for helping us celebrate the season. We also give a box of chocolates to the first display we find that has a nativity and thank them for reminding us that Jesus is the reason for the season! It's been so much fun, and the reactions from the people that get the candy are great! We really should take a camcorder some year and tape it! :)
My favorite family moment:
Would have to be at night, reading to the boys and listening to their prayers - they come up with some of the funniest things in their prayers. I just have to smile, because I know that God is! :)

No Nag Nirvana

Yes, wouldn’t that be like heaven? You walk around the house and without saying a word, backpacks, toys and clothes are picked up…dishes are cleared off the table and towels are hung back on the towel rack. Dirty clothes actually go into the dirty clothes basket and you no longer walk into the kitchen to [...]

The Power of Unexpected Kindness

The idea of Door Knob Drops came from my sister, Teri, who lives with her two boys in Moraga, California. One year there were several kids on their street that were graduating from some school or another; sixth grade, eighth grade or twelfth grade. Teri and her boys put together some very simple treats with [...]

What Would You Do?

Last night my boys, Dylan and Travis, were helping me cut out Bingo Boards and put together Bingo Button sacks. It was really late and I was trying to get everything photographed for this first Five in One Family Fun email. Normally they go to bed by 9:15 but it was 9:30 and I hadn’t [...]
