Take a small branch, or even a simple tree and hand symbols of the Easter story on it to help teach your children the story of Easter.

Our tree has these symbols:
-A Donkey (from the kids' nativity) for the triumphal entry
-A small bottle of perfume for when Mary anointed Jesus before the Passover
-A Sponge that they dipped for Him while on the cross
-A Rock that was rolled away from the tomb
-A White cloth that they wrapped Jesus body in to bury Him
-A Purple cloth that symbolizes the robe they made Him wear
-A dice for the lots they cast
-A wheat chex to symbolize the unleavened bread He broke
-A lamb since He was the lamb that was slain
-A shepherd's staff since He was the great shepherd
-A nail since He was nailed to the cross
-A small piece of a cork to symbolize the wine they drank at the Passover
-3 dimes for the 30 silver pieces He was betrayed for
-A cocktail sword for the sword that pierced His side
-Soap since Pilot washed his hands of it
-A rope from the prisoner that was freed
-A small tissue to symbolize the tears that His family and friends shed
-Cloves to symbolize the spices the women brought
-A small thorn branch to make a crown of thorns
-A feather to symbolize the rooster crowing
-A bag with small pebbles to symbolize the earthquake at His death
-A leaf to symbolize the palm branches at the triumphal entry
-A small sign that says "King of the Jews"
-A "Kiss" on a white piece of paper to symbolize the betrayal kiss from Judas
